When the horse is to be lunged or go for a walk, it can be practical to use a lunging aid. A lunging aid encourages the horse to move in a low and relaxed form, the form where the activity in the horse's back muscles is greatest. The lunging aid enables the horse to stretch the back unchallenged, which not only stimulates the strength of the horse's back muscles but also the balance.
